Dublin Skid Steer Demolition - December 2007

TIGHT QUARTER CLEARING OUT FOR CASE SKIDSTEER

Many parts of the Irish capital city, Dublin, are undergoing rapid development. While some of the more architecturally and historic buildings are being converted, many building are simply being demolished to enable high, more modern structures to be built in their place.

One such project is currently underway in Sheriff Street, Dublin where the run down area is being completely transformed. An Irish demolition contractor, Demolition Masters, is ripping out a three storey building before demolishing it and clearing the ground for a seven-storey complex.

Dave Shailes, Demolition Foreman is using a 5 year old CASE 1845C skid steer to shovel the interior rubble into piles from which it can load highway trucks. Work started in October and the building will be down by the end of November. “It's one of the oldest machines in the fleet but still more than up to the task. Demolition work is tough on machines and we have to have machines that not only have the load capacity but also the durability and ruggedness.”

The 1845C, like the latest models, has excellent manoeuvrability and very aggressive loading for working in tight quarters with difficult material. All CASE models can also easily dump to stand highways tipper trucks. The excellent forward reach, with parallel lifting, also makes pallet handling easier and safe.

Demolition Masters also have the latest CASE skid steer in their fleet. As well as CASE tracked excavators, wheeled excavators and wheel loaders.

Latest models feature engines that are known for efficiency and reliability, the Case Family III, which is designed with up to 30% less components than other engines. Lift capacity is up to 2,268 kg and breakout force 28,245 N

They are also recognized for the high torque they deliver. Able to turn within their own length and dump to heights up to 2.34 m, these skid steers are built to the same strength and durability which CASE skid steer loaders are recognized. CASE was one of the original developers of skid steer technology.
