Since being launched at the beginning of the year, dealers throughout the UK and Ireland are reporting a positive feedback from customers. Already machines are working in many demanding applications.
With the introduction of the 721E, 821E and 921E wheel loaders, CASE has once again demonstrated why they are a popular choice in construction, quarrying and material handling applications.
For major quarrying and material handling applications, the 921E and the 821E have both the power and load capability to provide highly efficient loading performance.
With an operating weight of 22,962 kg, engine rating of 212 kW and bucket capacity up to 4.60 m³, the 921E has the power and capacity for demanding applications. The Z-bar linkage gives full power lifting to a dump height of over 3 m in just 6 seconds. A breakout force of up to 20,000 kg makes for aggressive penetration of difficult material for faster bucket loading.
Operating economy and efficiency is assured by a CASE Family IV 667TA/EED common rail electronically controlled Tier III certified diesel engine. This new engine gives the operator three power and three torque levels for optimum efficiency according to application needs.
In the E-Series wheel loaders, the engine is positioned more to the rear thereby acting as a counterweight for increased stability. This also enables the cooling modules to be positioned in the middle of the machine for greater protection and improved efficiency.
The 821E has an operating weight of 17,166 kg and Tier III engine rated at 159 kW with bucket capacity up to 3.30 m³.
The 721EXT is from the same series but configured as a tool carrier which provides parallel lifting throughout the lift cycle and the ability to quickly switch attachments from buckets to blades, brooms, grabs, pallet forks and many more. This configuration is ideal for material handling operations where versatility is important or as a support tool in larger operations. The 721EXT has a rating of 137 kW, operating weight of 14,650 kg and bucket capacities up to 2.70 m³.
And they are proving to meet expectations with both the largest excavator base machines as well as for smaller models. At Hillhead 2007, CASE Construction equipment is displaying the top of the range excavator, the CX800 equipped with a 40 m demolition arm fitted with VTN MT20 multiutility attachment and, for contrast, a CX225SR excavator equipped with a 15 m boom and VTN grab
Kevan Dowse, Marketing Responsible for Case Europe says,
“The demolition sector is extremely important to CASE and it is our objective to provide the best equipped machines for the applications. This not only means booms offering optimum reach for the base machine, but such features as titling cabs, extra counterweights, additional strengthening and reinforcing around the cab area and to the chassis, improved protection of hydraulic lines and cylinders, additional hydraulic pumps and more.
“Demolition is probably the most demanding application for excavators and for operators. The machine and operator have to be protected from falling debris. Manipulating a tool at over 40 m height calls for precision controls and hydraulic circuits that can cope with the extended reach demands.
“CASE is able to provide demolition contractors with a total solution including support machines such as skid steer loaders, wheeled tool carriers and loaders to aid clean up of rubble, material selection and loading into skips or trucks.”
Hillhead 2007 also sees the CASE CX290B excavator with an operating weight of 29,100 kg, engine rating of 154 kW, maximum bucket capacity of 1.7 m³ and maximum digging reach of 11.16m. With a breakout force of 19020 daN, the CX290B is ideal for sand, gravel and other quarrying applications.
For restricted areas, smaller operations or where versatility is demanded, the CASE E-Series of compact wheel loaders are the solution. The 5419 kg Case 221E on show has a bucket capacity of up to1 m³, load capacity of over 5 t. and dump height of more than 3 m. However, the outstanding feature on the E-Series compact wheel loaders is that they are all highly versatile tool carriers. From within the cap, they can be quickly reconfigured from wheel loader work with pallet forks, grabs, sweepers, blades or any one of a wide range of attachments
Compact wheel loaders such as the 221E because they are so compact, highly manoeuvrable and versatile are ideal for working inside storage bays, warehouses, or wherever space is restricted. They are also the ideal complement to other primary equipment because they can be used for numerous support tasks.
